KIDS AND CARS AND AUDIOVOX
Audiovox’s vision for its Rear Collision Avoidance
Systems has been continually sharpened and
strengthened by its relationship with the
groundbreaking national organization KIDS AND CARS.
KIDS AND CARS continues to be this country’s leading
advocate for legislation that protects children from
needless backover accidents. Most notably, the Kids
Transportation Safety Act of 2007.
The need for such legislation is staggering:
• 50 children every week are backed over in
driveways and parking lots
• Backovers are the leading killer of children in
non-traffic accidents – 42%
• From 2004-2008, 439 children were killed in
backover accidents
Audiovox is proud to serve as consultants and as a
technology partner with KIDS AND CARS. We were
there side-by-side with its founder when she
presented and helped pass this vital bill into law.
