Soft clean cloth
“Tape residue remover” Rubbing Alcohol
Screwdriver, Phillips, medium (screw on kit only)
Removal Procedure
* Note
Removal of a taped on unit is difficult due to the high adhesive strength of products
used by our supplier. In most cases, items will be severely damaged by removal.
1. Remove all screws or fasteners (if applicable) to the dash kit item.
2. Try pulling the part off with your fingers. If part comes off, skip to step # 4.
3. If the part doesn’t pull off, a 1” wide putty knife will help. Start under a corner and
pry upward taking care not to damage vehicle surface. With perseverance and
some putty knife scraping the part should start to pull off. Great care must be exer-
cised when using the putty knife not to damage vehicle area under the part.
4. When the wood bulk of the piece has been removed there will be residue of tape
and, or adhesive. Rubbing your thumb over the area forming a residue ball can
clean off the residue. Additional rubbing will continue to remove residue. Adhesive
remover can be used it will not etch the surface of the dash area. A non-
destructive adhesive scraper can also be used. Once again, care must be exercised
not to gouge the surface or mar the surrounding areas.
* Note
All adhesives must be removed from the surface if another unit is to be installed.
5. Clean area with rubbing alcohol or other non-destructive solvent.
