9 Operating the System

8. From the Point Dish menu, use the re-
mote control to select satellite 119°. (Leave
the transponder number that appears in the
screen as is.) Once the antenna locks onto
the satellite, the light indicator on the IDU
will change to steady green. This means that
your IDU has acquired the satellite signal.
Verify that the signal strength is above 60.
Please note that the signal strength of a mo-
bile antenna will not be as high as the xed
dish, home installation. Signal strength will
be determined by where you are in North
America, and the look angle. If the software
does not start to download automatically,
press “cancel” and then press “yes” in the
new window.
9. Push the “Sys Info” button on the remote.
You should see on page one, “Section d,”
DP311 and Software P310.
10. Put receiver in “Standby” by pressing
and holding the power button on the receiver
for 3-5 seconds. (This will not work from
the remote control, only the receiver power
button.). It will look like the receiver is off,
but leave the power to the IDU and ODU,

thus the vehicle ON.
11. About a minute later you should receive
Message 061. (Figure 9-2)

12. Approximately 5-10 minutes later you
should receive Message 303. (Figure 9-3)
13. Approximately 1-2 minutes later the
receiver will go back into “Standby.”
14. Press the ‘Sys Info’ button.
Check Sys Info: You should see something
similar in “Section d” to DP311 and Software
ASD1. ASD1 is the mobile software. YOU
ARE NOT DONE YET!
15. Cancel out of Sys Info
16. Power the receiver on
