Further steps
– Assign the announcements to the various call types. You can assign the
announcements either via the menu on the display (in answer.machine >
functions > TAM announcem. > ...) or via the PC software included in the
package (recommended; see page 52).
Connecting the Telephone to a PC and Installing the USB Driver
(only COMfortel 2600)
If you install the USB driver, you will be able to configure the telephone from the
USB port on a PC.
Note: You can also configure the telephone using a PC that is connected
to the PBX over a PC port (see the instructions of the PBX).
Requirements
– A PC meeting the system requirements (see chapter Important Information
> System Requirements, page 39)
– Installation file (setup.exe) stored on a storage medium (PC)
– The PC must be located near the telephone.
Important: The length of the USB cable used for connecting may be a max-
imum of 3 m (like the cable included in the package).
Note: The steps below describe how to configure the settings on the Win-
dows 7/8/8.1 operating system. If you are using another operating system,
please refer to the documentation for your operating system.
1. Start the installation file (setup.exe) on the PC.
The installation software is started.
2. Follow the instructions on the screen.
3. Plug the flat USB connector on one end of the supplied USB cable into a
USB port on the PC.
4. Plug the other USB connector into the USB port labelled on the back
of the system telephone.
