Preview Range group
Specifies the fr ames to be included in the prev iew,
either the active time segment (page 3–904) or a
custom range of frames.
Frame Rate group
Specifies the playback frame rate (page 3–944)
in frames per second. Use Every Nth Frame to
preview a regular sampling of the animation. For
example, a value of 8 includes only every eighth
frame in the preview.
ImageSizegroup
Sets the resolution of your preview as a p ercentage
of the current output resolution. The output
resolution is set in the Render Scene dialog.
For example, if the rendering output resolution
is 640x480, and you set the Percent Of Output
spinner to 50, the preview resolution is 320x240.
Note: Thesizeofthepreviewimageislimitedby
the size of the viewpanel region (the region that
containstheviewports).Thespinnerisclampedto
themaximumvaluethatallowsthepreviewimage
to still fit in the viewpanel region.
Display in Preview group
Specifies the t ypes of objects to include in the
preview. Frame Numbers prints a frame number
in the upper-left corner of each frame of the AVI
file. Background includes the assigned viewport
background in the preview.
Camera View group
Specifies whether the prev iew should include
multi-pass rendering effects (page 3–77).
Rendering Level group
Render i ng Lev el drop-down l is t—Specifies the
viewport rendering method (page 3–854) to use in
the preview.
Output group
Specifies the preview output form at.
AVIWhen chosen, the preview is output as an
AVI f ile. The button to the right displays the
current AVI codec (page 3–921).Clickittoadjust
the assigned codec, or choose a different codec.
The quality of your output AVI file depends on
the t ype of codec you use and t he codec settings,
which vary. For the hi ghest visual quality, choos e
the highest compression quality. The higher the
compression quality, the lower the compression,
and the larger the resultant file.
Custom File Type—Outputs the preview to the
specified file format. When this option is chosen,
and the Create button is clicke d, a fi le selector
