To update an ActiveShade window after moving an
object or changing obj ect geometry :
1.
Right-click the ActiveShade window.
2. In the Tools (lower-right) quadrant of the quad
menu, choose Initialize.
To see t he toolba r in an ActiveSha de v iewpor t :
1.
Click the viewport to make it active.
2. Press the Spacebar to display the toolbar.
Pressing spacebar again togg les the toolbar off,
and s o on.
You can also turn toolbar display on or off by
rig ht-clicking and using the quad menu.
To change an ActiveShade viewport to another k ind
of v i ewport :
1.
Turn on the toolbar in the Act iveShade
viewport.
2. Right-click the toolbar.
3. Inthepop-upmenu,choosethetypeofview
to display.
You can also restore the viewport to its previous
status by right-clicking the viewport and
choosing View (upper-left ) quad > Close.
To zoom and pan in an ActiveShade window:
You can zoom in and out and pan the image in the
ActiveShade window. You can even do this while a
scene is rendering.
1. Hold down Ctr l and then click to zoom in,
right-click to zoom out.
2. Hold down Shi ft and then drag to p an. ( The
window must be zoomed in.)
Ifyouhaveathree-buttonmouse,youcanuseits
third button or wheel to zoom and pan:
1. R oll the wheel to zoom in or out.
2. Press the w heel, and drag to pan.
Note: You can use any third-button pointing
device to pan the image. To enable this, choose
thePan/ZoomoptionontheViewports panel
(page 3–821) of the Preferences dialog
Interfa ce
Both the viewport and floating versions of the
ActiveShadewindowhavethesamecontrols
as a rendered frame window (page 3–5).Inan
ActiveShade viewport, the toolbar is off by default.
In a f loating ActiveShade window, the toolbar is
always visible.
Tip: In an active ActiveShade view port, you can
toggle toolbar display by pressing the
Spa ceba r .
(This is a main user interface shortcut, so the
Keyboard Shor tcut O verride Toggle can be either
on or off.)
Tip: If you clear the image, you can redisplay it
by right-clicking the ActiveShade window and
choos ing To o ls > Init ialize or To o ls > Up d ate
Shading from the lower-right quadrant of the quad
menu.
