Perimeter highlights
BrightFilters the source objects based on
their brig htness va lues. Only objects with a
brightness above the spinner setting are selected
and highlighted. This option can be inverted by
clicking the I button next to the spinner. This
parameter can be animated.
Hue—Filtersthesourceobjectsbytheirhue.Select
the hue by clicking the color swatch next to the
spinner. You can choose hue values from 0 to 255.

enter a variance level so that the glow can find
several different hues in the same range as the
chosen color This parameter can be animated.

The Geometry panel is where you set the initial
rotation of the highlights as well as how the
elements are affected over time. The Geometry
panel consists of three areas: Effect, Vary, and
Rotate.

Effect group
Angle—Controls the angle of the highlig ht points
over the course of the animation. This parameter
can be animated (page 3–349).
Clamp Determines the number of pixels highlight
must read to place a sing le highlight effect. In
many c ases, you want to key your hig h li g ht effects
off of the brightness of objects that can produce
a lot of pixels to generate from. The end result is
somethingthatlookslikestadiumlightsfroma
Monday Night Footba ll game, where each pixel has
the highlight cross drawn on top of it, which blurs
the overall effect. When you want only one or two
highlights, use this spinner to adjust how highlight
processes the chosen pixels. T his parameter can
be animated.
Clamp value of 5
