The viewport background does not render.
To render the IFL file’s animation, assign the
IFLfileasarenderingenvironment.(Seethe
following procedure.)
To render the fra mes in an IFL f ile as a movie (AV I or
MOV format):
1.
Choose Rendering > Environment.
2. On the Environment dialog, click Environment
Map.
3. OntheMaterial/MapBrowser,chooseBitmap,
and then click OK.
4. On the Select Bitmap Image File dialog, choose
the IFL file, and then click OK.
5. Click Time Configuration, and use
the Time Configuration dialog to make the
animation length m atch the number of f rames
specified in the IFL file.
6. Render a view p ort to a mov ie-format file.
Tip: The aspect ratio of the rendered movie
should match the aspect ratio of the frames in
the IFL file.
Notes
If the IFL generator has a name conflict with an
existing IFL file, it will increment the new file’s
name to avoid overwriting the existing file.
If the IFL generator has any problems with
wr ite access while trying to create the IFL file,
theprocesswillfailandtheIFLfilewontbe
created. Therefore, automatic IFL generation
wont work when reading bitmaps from a
CD-ROM. You need to copy them to a directory
on your hard disk first. Likewise, automatic IFL
generation wont work on network drives to
which you don’t have write access.

Control dialog
The Image File List Control dialog provides
controls for creating an ImageFileList(IFLfile)
(page 3–616), which lists sequential still image files
forrenderingintobackgroundsormaterials.Itis
part icularly useful if you are choosing a sequence
of files that are on a CD-ROM, because you can
redirect the IFL file to a different directory on your
hard disk.
This dialog duplicates the f unctionality found in
the IFL Manager utility (page 3–619).
Interfa ce
Target Path—Sets the directory w here the IFL file
is saved.
BrowseUsethistonavigatetothecorrect
directory.
Opti ons—Sets additional options for creating the
IFL file.
Start FrameDetermines which file in the
sequence will be the first f rame. Use this when you
have a sequence but you don’t want to start with
thefirstimageinthesequence.
End Frame—Determines which file will be the last
framelistedintheIFLlist.
