Layer List
Layers toolbar > Layer List
The Layer List, available from the Layers toolbar
(page 3–688),displayslayernamesandtheir
properties. You can control the properties of layers
by clicking the property icons. You can make a
layer current by simply selecting it from the list.
ThecontrolsavailableintheLayerListareasubset
of the controls available in the Layer Manager.

Tip: The Layer List is most useful in conjunction
with the other tools available on the Layers toolbar
(page 3–688).

Pr ocedur es
To make a layer current:
1.
Click Layers toolbar > L ayer List to display the
list.
2. Select the layer you want to make current from
the list.
It is now the current layer.
To chang e the l a y er of a s el ecte d obj e ct:
1.
Click Layers toolbar > L ayer List to display the
list.
2. Select the desired destination layer to make it
current.
3. On the L ayers toolbar, click Add
Selected Objects to Current Layer.
To chan ge a l ay er ’ s propert ies :
1.
Click Layers toolbar > Layer List to display the
list.
2. Click the layer property icon that you want to
set.
You can change the following properties from
the l ayer list: hide/unhide, freeze/unfreeze,
renderable/non-renderable, and color.
3. Click the Layer List again to collapse it.

the layer list: hide/unhide, freeze/unfreeze,
renderable/non-renderable, and color.
Unlike the Layer Manager, where one icon is used
for all Off states, the ’Off’ icons for each property
ontheLayerListareunique.
