When you zo om a region in a perspective
viewport, select Zoom Region f rom the Field of
View flyout.
3. Drag a rectangular region in any viewport
displaying a non-camera view.
When you release, the region is magnified to
fill the viewport.
Note: When using the Zoom Region in
Perspective v iew, the zoom rectangle is at a
fixed distance from the camera. For this reason,
if you draw the rectangle large enough, you can
zoom out from the scene.
Pa n Vi ew
Activate a Perspective or orthographic viewport. >
Viewport Navigation controls > Pan View
Keyboard > Ctrl+P ; I pans so the cursor location
becomes the center of the view port.
Middle m ouse button > Drag in the viewp ort with the
middle mouse button for instant access to pan the
viewport.
Pan moves the view parallel to the current
viewport plane.
Pan is modal (page 3–973): it stays active until you
right-click or selec t another command.
To constrain panning of any viewport to a single
axis, hold down the
Shi f t key. The pan is
constrained to the axis you first move while the
Shi f t key is down.
To accelerate panning, hold down the
Ctrl key.
You can also pan by dragging in a v iewport while
pressingthemiddlebuttonofathree-button
mouse. This lets you pan without t urning on the
Pan button.
Procedures
To pan a viewport:
1.
A ctivate a Perspective or orthographic
viewport, and then click Pan View.
2. Drag in the viewport in the direction you want
to move.
3. To turn off the button, press Esc or right-click.
To pa n a non-Camera vi ewpor t:
1.
Activate a Perspective or orthographic
view por t.
2. Do one of the following:
Click Pan View.
•Press
Ct rl +P .
Press the m iddle mouse button.
3. Drag in the viewport in the direction you want
to mov e, or use the arrow keys.
To accel era te panni ng:
•HolddowntheCtrl key as you pan.
To constrain panning to a single axis:
•HolddowntheShif t key as you pan.
The pan is constrained to the first axis you use.
If you drag vertically at first, the pan or orbit
is constrained to be vertical; if you drag
horizontally at first, the constr aint is horizontal.
