UsetheFilesoftypedrop-downmenutosearch
for other types of customization files. The default
is .cui, but you can a lso search for .clr, .mnu, .kbd,
.qop,and.ui files. When you choose a filename, al l
fileswiththatbasefilenamewillbeloaded.
Save Custom UI Scheme
Customize menu > Save Custom UI Scheme
ThisstandardWindowsfilesavedialogletsyou
save your customized UI scheme.
This dialog works differently from other dialogs
that save files. In this dialog , after you enter a
base fi le name and click Save, the Custom Scheme
dialog appears. On the Custom Scheme dialog,
you set the types of user interface schemes to
save. A file is saved for each type of scheme you
select, each with a specific extension for that type
of scheme. When you load any one of the custom
UI scheme fi les with the Load Custom UI Scheme
dialog (page 3–805),theentiresetoffileswiththe
same base file name will be loaded.
OntheSaveCustomUISchemedialog,thebase
name of the current U I scheme is filled in by
default. You can enter the name of the base file
name in the File Name field, or click in the list to
choose an existing base fi le name. You can click a
file with any UI scheme extension to sa v e to the
base file name from that file.
IfyouwantthecurrentUItoloadautomatically
every time you load 3ds Max, you can save to the
base file name maxstart.Alternately,youcanturn
on the Sa ve UI Configuration On Exit option on
the Customize menu > Preferences > General tab
(page 3–815).ThiswillcausetheUIschemethatis
currentatthetimeyouclose3dsMaxtobesaved
tothebasefilenamemaxstart.Thisoptionison
by default.
Wa rn in g : Do not save over the base file name defaultUI,
as doing so will permanently overwrite t he default UI
scheme files.
