To set the key brack et display :
1.
Choose Customize menu > Preferences >
Preference Settings dialog > Ani mation tab.
2. Use the controls in the Key Bracket Display
group to specify how you wan t key brackets
displayed in wireframe viewports.
To specify default controller settings:
1.
Choose Customize menu > Preferences >
Preference Settings dialog > Ani mation tab.
2. Click Set Defaults in the Controller Defaults
group.
The Set Controller Defaults dialog appears.
3. Choose a controller type from the list of
available controllers and click the Set button.

appears in, for example, the In and Out tangents
for a Bezier controller.
4. Make changes to the controller settings.
Once you click OK in the Set Controller
Defaults dialog, the controller defaults are
changed.
Changes to t he cont roller default settings are
written to your 3dsmax.ini file and become the
defaults for a ll newly assigned controllers and
all new scenes.
If you decide that you want to revert to the
original 3ds Max defaults for all cont rollers, you
can click Restore To Factory Settings.

Key Bracket Display group
When you move to a f r ame, the software displays
white brackets around objects that have tr ansform
keys (page 3–960) at that fr ame, including c ameras
and l ights. These key brackets only appear in
wireframe viewport displays.
All Obj ects/S elected Objects/None—Specifies which
objects will display key brackets.
Use Cur rent Tr an sf or m—Displays brackets only on
those frames containing a key for the transform
button (page 3–1026) (Move, Rotate, or Sca le)
currently active in the toolbar.
