The Selection group box, described under
"Interface" later in this topic, provides
additional options for selecting CV sub-objects.
2. Turn on Move or another transform and then
drag in a viewport to t ransform the select ion.
Theshapeofthemodelchangesasyou
interactively t ransform the CVs.
Rotate and S cale are useful only w hen you’ve
selected mul tiple CVs.
Tips
The Lock Selection Set button is useful
when you transform NURBS CV sub-objects.
You can make a selection in one viewport, click
Lock Selection Set (or press the
Spa ceba r ),
andthentransformtheselectioninadifferent
viewport.
When you move CV sub-objects, move them as
systematically as po ssible to avoid "getting lost."
•Onsurfaces,avoidmovingCVssotheycross
over or under adjacent points. This can create
odd-looking warps or overlaps in the surface.
To Shif t +clone su rface sub-objects:
•HolddownShift while you transfor m the
surface selection.
The Sub-Object Clone O ptions (page 1–1237)
dialog appears. This dialog provides various
waystoclonethesurfaces,someofwhich
reduce relational dependencies to improve
perfor mance.
To use the k eyboard to select sur face CV sub-objects:
You c an select surface CV sub-objects using the
Ctrl key and the arrow keys. The arrows traverse
the sub-objects in the order they were created. To
do so, follow these steps:
1. Turn on the Keybo a rd Shor tc ut
Override Toggle.
2. Click or drag to select CVs.
3. Hold down Ctrl and use the arrow keys to
move among t he CV sub-objects.
For CVs on sur faces, the left and rig ht arrow
keys t raverse the U dimension of a surface,
while the up and down arrow keys traverse the
V dimension of the surface. The arrow keys
don’t move b etween surface sub-objects.

Ctrl +H displays only the names of CVs directly
beneath the mouse curs or.
To remove CVs from a surface:
1.
Select a row, column, or a row and column.
TheappropriateDeletebuttonsareenabled.
2. IntheDeletegroupbox,clickRow,Col.,or
Both.
The row, the column, or b oth are deleted.
Note: Yo u c a n t d e l e t e a s i n g l e C V f r o m a C V
surface. Nor can you delete a row or column if
thatwouldmakethesurfacehavefewerthan
four rows or columns.
To add CVs to a CV Surface:
1.
IntheRefinegroupbox,clickRow,Col.,or
Both.
2. Click the surface.
Arow,acolumn,orbothareaddedclose
to the point where you clicked the surface.
Neighboring CVs move away from the new
CVs in order to preserve the surfaces original
curvature.
