are currently selected.
Editing Cur ve Sub-Objects
Modify panel > Stack display > Open the NURBS objec t’s
hierarchy. > Curve sub-object level > Select curve
sub-objects.
This topic describes the controls that are common
to point and CV curves. A rollout labeled Cur ve
Common con tains the curve sub-object controls
for NURBS models.
Pr ocedur es
To transform cur ves:
1.
At the Curve sub-object le vel, select one or
more curves.
The sub-object selection tools are the same
as for other kinds of sub-objects. You can
also press the
H key when the Keyboard
Shortcut Override toggle (page 3–872) is on. See
Sub-Object Selection (page 1–1084).
The Selection group box, described under
"Interface" later in this topic, provides
additional options for selecting curves.
2. Turn on Move or another transform and then
drag in a viewport to t ransform the select ion.
Theshapeofthemodelchangesasyou
interactively tr ansform the curves.
Tip: The Lock Selection Set button is usefu l
when you transform NURBS cur ve sub-objects.
You can make a selection in one viewport, click
Lock Selection Set (or press the
Spa ceba r ),
andthentransformtheselectioninadifferent
viewport.

•HolddownShift while you transfor m the
cur ve selection.
The Sub-Object Clone O ptions (page 1–1237)
dialog is displayed. This dialog provides
variouswaystoclonethecurves,someofwhich
reduce relational dependencies to improve
performance.
Tousethekeyboardtoselectcurvesub-objects:

key and the arrow keys. The arrows traverse the
sub-objects in the order they were created. To do
so, follow these steps:
1. Turn on the Keybo a rd Shor tc ut
Override Toggle.
2. A t the Curve sub-object level, set the
selectioncontrolstoselectcurvesindividually.
3. Click or drag to select curves.
4. Hold down Ctrl and use the arrow keys to
move among the cur ves in the current model.
A t the Curve sub-object level, the left and
right arrow keys move forward and backward
through individual curves in the order they
were created. The up and down arrows are
equivalent to left and right.
Yo u c a n a l s o u s e t h e
H keyboard shortcut (while
theKeyboardShortcutOverrideToggleison)
to display a dia log and select curves by name.
Ctrl +H displa ys only the names of curves
directly beneath the mouse curs or.
To delete a curve:
Select the curve and then click Delete.
Keyboard shortcut:

To turn a CV curve into a point curve:
1.
Select the curve sub-object, and then click
Make Fit.
