Stair Selection B uttons—Click one of these to
specify the type of stairs you want to create.
Name and Color rollout
This rollout lets you set the stairs object’s name
and color. For detailed information, see Object
Name and Wireframe Color (page 3–757).
L-Type Stair
Create panel > Ge ometry > Stairs > L-Type Stair button
Create menu > AEC Objects > L-Type Stair
TheL-TypeStairobjectletsyoucreateastaircase
with two flig hts at right angles to each other.
Types of L-type stair: open, closed, and boxed
L-type stairs have two flig hts at right angles, and a landing.
Procedure
To create L-Type stairs:
1.
In any viewport, drag to set t he length for the
firstflight. Releasethemousebutton,then
move the cursor and click to s et the length,
w idth, and direction for the second flight.
2. Movethecursorupordowntodefinetherise
of the stairs, then click to end.
3. Adjust the stairs by using the options in the
Parameters rollout.
Interfa ce
Parameters rollout > Type group
Open—Creates an open riser stair, as shown on the
left in the illustration above.
Clo sed Creates a closed r iser stair, as shown in
the center in the illustration above.
Box—Creates a stair with closed risers and closed
str ingers on both sides, as shown on the right in
the illustration above.
Generate Geometry group
Stringers—Createsstringersalongtheendsof
the treads of the stairs. To modify the stringers
depth, width, offset and spring from the floor, see
Stringers rollout (page 1–234).
Carri ag eCreates an inclined, notched beam
under the treads which supports the steps or adds
support between the stringers of the stairs. You
mightalsoknowthisasacarriage piece, ahorse,or
