286 Chapter 5: Creating Geometry
Lengt h—
Controls the height of the vert ical web
of the channel.
Width—Controls the width of the top and bottom
horizontal legs of the channel.
Thick ness—Controls the thickness of both legs of
the angle.
Sync Cor ner Fillets—When turned on, Corner
Radius 1 con trols the radius of both the int erior
and exterior corners between the vertical web and
horizontal legs. It also maintains the thickness of
the channel. Default=on.
Co rner Radius 1Controls the exterior r adius
between the vertical web and hor izontal legs of the
channel.
Co rner Radius 2Controls the interior radius
between the vertical web and hor izontal legs of the
channel.
Note: Take care when adjusting these settings.
There are no constraining relationships between
them. Therefore, it’s possible to set an inside
radius(CornerRadius2)thatisgreaterthanthe
length of the web or width of the legs.
Angle Spline
Create panel > Shapes > Exten ded Spli nes > Objec t Type
rollout > Angle
Create menu > Shapes > Angle
Use Angle to create a closed “L shaped spline. You
have the option to specify the radii of the corners
between the vertical and horizontal leg s of the
section.
Example of A ngle
Procedure
To create a n Angl e spli ne:
1.
Go to the Create p anel and choose
Shapes.
2. Open the Shapes List and select Extended
Splines.
3. Click Angle.
4. Drag and release the mouse button to define
the initial size of the angle.
5. Move the mouse and then click to define the
thicknessofthewallsoftheangle.
Interfa ce
Rendering and Interpolation rollouts
All spline-based shapes share these parameters.
For explanations, see Splines and Extended Splines
(page 1–266).
Creation Method rollout
The Angle shape uses the standard creation
methodsofCenterorEdge. Mostspline-based
shapes share the same Creation Method
parameters. For explanations, see Splines and
Extended Splines (page 1–266).
