Use the Duplicates spinner to specify the
number of duplicates. (This is not necessary
ifyoureusingtheAllVertices,AllEdge
Midpoints or All Face Centers distribution
methods.)
6. Choose a dist ribution method in the Scatter
Object rollout > Distribute Object Parameters
group under Distribute Using.
7. Optionally, adjust the Transform spinners to
randomly tr ansform the duplicates.
8. If the display is too slow, or the meshes too
complicated, consider choosing Proxy on the
Display rollout or decreasing the percentage of
displayed duplicates by reducing the Display
percentage.
Mostofthespinnervaluesareanimatable,soyou
can animate things like the number of duplicates,
their transformations, and so on.

Ref erence/Copy/Move/Ins tan ce—Lets you specify
how the distribution object is transferred to the
scatter object. It can be transferred either as a
reference (page 3–1002),acopy,aninstance (page
3–957), or moved, in which case the original shape
is not left behind.
