VScale
Controls how much to shrink or expand
the cloth along the V direction (as defined by
Garment Maker). A value of less than 1 will shr in k
thefabricatsimulationtime,whileavalueofmore
than 1 will stretch it.
Seam Force—Notpresentlyusedandonlykeptfor
backward compatibility with older versions of the
former product called Stitch. This was a global
seam strength, but seam st rength is now defined
on a seam-by-seam basis in the Seams sub-object
Mode.
Depth—Collision depth. If a port ion of cloth
reaches this depth inside a collision object, then
the simulation will no longer try to push the cloth
out of the mesh. This value is measured in 3ds Max
units.
Offset—The amount of distance kept between the
cloth and the collision object. A v ery low value
can cause the collision mesh to protrude out from
under the cloth. A very high value will cause
thefabrictolookasifitisfloatingontopofthe
collision object.
Plasticity—The tendency of t he cloth to keep its
current deformation (that is, the bend ang les).
This is different from Keep Shape, which
determinestheextenttowhichtheclothtendsto
keep its original deformation (or the one defined
by the Target State). If you set Plasticity to 100.0,
the cloth will not attempt to change the a ngles
between triang les. If you want stiffer cloth, but you
dontwanttheclothto"balloon"up,increasethe
Plasticity value.
Cling—Theextenttowhichtheclothobjectadheres
to a collision object. Range=0.0 to 99999.0.
Default=0.0.
You can use this parameter to simulate effects such
as wet cloth. A sett ing of 1.0 should be just enough
to hold the defa ult ma terial onto a surface against
its own weight.
Based onDisplays the preset that the group
properties are based on. When you modif y
parameters and save a preset, Cloth uses the name
of the last preset you loaded as the Based on
name.
AnisotropicWhen on, you can set different U
andVvaluesfortheBend,B-Curve,andStretch
parameters. The U and V directions are defined
by Garment Maker (page 1–607) and do not apply
to non-Garment Maker meshes, for which setting
different U/V values might result in unexpected
behav ior.
UseEdgeSpringsThis is an alternative method
for calculating st retch. When this option is on,
stretch force is based on springs along t riangle
edges. (Whereas normally the stretch and shear
forcesarecalculatedinamoresophisticated
manner to more accurately reflect the underlying
physics).
Use Cloth Dept h/Off set Uses the Depth and Offset
values set for the group. When on, the cloth object
ignores the collision object Depth and Offset
values.
