If the scene contains multiple shapes, you can
chooseonlyoneshapetobesweptalongthe
underlying spline in your scene.
All/None/Inver t—Thesebuttonsareunavailablein
the Pick Shape dialog.
Displ ay Subt ree—Displays the shapes in the list in
an indented format. Turn this switch off to activate
the Sort group options.
Select Subtree—Unavailable in the Pick Shape
dialog.
Case S ensitive—When on, d ist inguishes between
uppercaseandlowercaseforitemnames.
Sort group
Options allow you to sort the list on the left.
When Display Subtree is on, these options are not
available.
Alphabetical—Sorts from A at the top to Z at the
bottom.
By Type—Whilethisswitchisavailable,ithasno
effect because only shapes are listed in the Pick
Shape dialog.
By Color—Sorts by object wireframe color. The
sort ing order is arbitrary; shapes of the same color
are grouped together.
By SizeThis switch is available but has no effect
on sorting.
List Types group
Because this dialog is specifically designed to work
with the Sweep mo difier, the List Type group is
locked to only display Shapes. Shapes is the only
switch in this g roup that affects what is displayed.
All/None/Invert—These buttons alter the pattern of
activation of the List Types options.
Selec tion Sets g roup
The Selection Sets group is unavailable in the Pick
Shape dialog.
Extract Shape Dialog
Select a shape that already has a Sweep modifier using a
Custom Section applied. > M odify Panel > S ection Type
rollout > Click Extract.
The Extract functionality allows you to recover
custom cross-sections that may have b een deleted
from the scene. As long as you have a sweep in
thescenethatusesthedeletedshapeasacustom
cross-section, Extrac t can be used to restore it to
the scene.
In a large scene that has many objects and shapes,
you can also use Extract if you want to quickly
duplicate a section used by the sweep instead of
searching for the original shape you used as the
section.
