UV W M apping Paste Modifier
Select an object. > Channel Info (page 2–1738) >Copy
and then paste a channel.
The UVW Mapping Paste modifier is added to an
object’s modifier stack when you paste a channel
in the Channel Info utilit y (page 2–1738).Itisnt
available from the modifier list, a nd has no user
interface.
To merge the results of the paste operation (for
example, a vertex selection) into the object’s
geometr y, collapse the modifier stack after pasting.

Object-Space Modifiers > UVW XForm
Select an object. > Modifiers menu > UV Coordinates >
UVW XForm
Use the UVW XForm modifier to adjust tiling
and offset in existing UVW coordinates (page
3–1028).Ifyouhaveanobjectwithcomplex
UVW coordinates already applied (such as a Loft
object, or a parametric object with generated
coordinates), you can apply this modifier to adjust
those coordinates further.
For example, if you create a torus and turn
on Generate Mapping Coordinates, the UVW
coordinates work perfectly with the torus, but
ifyouwanttotileormovethecoordinates,you
would previously have needed to do it at the
material/map lev el. Now you can apply a UVW
XForm mod ifier to alter the built-in coordinates.
You can use a Mesh Select or Edit Mesh modifier
toapplyaUVWAdjusttosub-objectselections,
as well. This is handy if you want to rotate the
mappingonaparticularportionofanobject.

Mapping group
U T ile, V T ile, W T ile—Alter the tiling along any of
the three coordinate axes.
Flip—Reversesthedirectionofthemapalongthe
specified axis.
U Offset, V Of fset, W Offset—Move the map in the
direction of the specified axis coordinate.
Rotation—Rotates the map.
Rot ate About Center—When active, the map rotates
about the center of the objec t. If this is applied to
a sub-object selection, it uses the center of that
selection.
When this is turned off, the map rotates about the
corner of the U and V coordinate gizmo .
