4 In the Layer Properties Manager, select the layer or layers you want to
freeze or thaw.
5 In the third column, Freeze in all VP, click the Freeze or thaw in ALL view-
ports icon to change a layer’s state. The sun icon means a layer is thawed;
the snowflake icon means a layer is frozen.
6 Choose OK.

To freeze or thaw layers in all new viewports
1 Choose a layout tab.
2 From the Format menu, choose Layer.
3 In the Layer Properties Manager, select the layer or layers you want to be
automatically frozen or thawed in new viewports you create.
4 In the eleventh column, New VP Freeze in New Viewports, click the icon
to change a layer’s state. The sun icon means a layer is thawed; the snow-
flake icon means a layer is frozen.
5 Choose OK.

To create new layers that are frozen in all viewports
1 Choose a layout tab.
2 From the Format menu, choose Layer.
3 Choose New, and rename the new layer.
4 If necessary, choose Show Details.
5 Under Details, select Freeze in All Viewports.
6 Choose OK.
