706 | Chapter 24 Link and Embed Data (OLE)
The Plotting tab in the Options dialog box allows you to specify a print qual-
ity value for OLE objects. Line Art is the lowest quality setting and results in
the fastest plotting with the least memory consumed. High Quality Photo-
graph is the highest quality setting and uses more memory and time for
plotting the OLE object.
To embed an OLE object in a drawing
1 Open the document in the server application.
2 Copy the information you want to embed to the Clipboard.
3 Open the AutoCAD drawing.
4 From the Edit menu, choose Paste.
5 In the OLE Properties dialog box, specify the size, scale, text size, and plot
quality for the linked OLE object.
6 Choose OK.

To create and embed an object starting from AutoCAD
1 Open the AutoCAD drawing.
2 From the Insert menu, choose OLE Object.
3 In the Insert Object dialog box under Object Type, select Create New.
4 Under Object Type, select an application. Then choose OK.
The server application opens.
5 Using the server application, create the information you want to insert,
and save the document.
6 From the server application's File menu, choose Exit and Return.
7 Close the server application.
The OLE Properties dialog box displays the current size information.
8 Specify the size, scale, text size, and plot quality of the object. Then choose
OK.
The OLE object is embedded in the AutoCAD drawing.
