Edit OLE Objects in Drawings | 711
How the link is updated in the compound document depends on the
application the document was created in. Some applications support auto-
matic updating of links; others require you to update the links manually.
To edit embedded AutoCAD objects
1 Open the document that contains the embedded AutoCAD objects (for
example, a Microsoft Word file).
2 Double-click the embedded objects to start AutoCAD and display the
objects.
3 Modify the objects as necessary.
4 From the File menu, choose Update to save changes to the embedded
objects.
5 From the File menu, choose Exit to close AutoCAD.
To resize or scale an OLE object
1 Select the OLE object that you want to resize or scale.
2 Drag a sizing handle to change the size of the object.
■ Dragging a middle handle stretches the object in one direction.
■ Dragging a corner handle scales the object proportionally, maintaining
the width-to-height ratio.
To move an OLE object
1 Select the OLE object that you want to move.
2 Move the cursor over the object frame until the move cursor appears (four
arrows).
3 Drag the OLE object to the new location.
To cut, copy, or clear an OLE object
1 Right-click the OLE object.
2 From the shortcut menu, choose the option you want to use.
■ Cut removes the object from the drawing and places it on the
Clipboard.
■ Copy copies the object to the Clipboard.
■ Clear removes the object from the drawing without placing it on the
Clipboard.
■ Undo cancels the last editing action.
For additional options, choose the Object option from the bottom of the
menu.
