6. IMPLANT PROCEDURE OVERVIEW
Pre-Operative
Pre-operative facial bone/paranasal sinus Computed Tomography (CT) scan or Magnetic Resonance
Imaging (MRI) may be used for surgical planning and to estimate the appropriate Microstimulator
length for a specific patient. Ensure the patient meets the indications for use.
Intra-Operative
Expose the superior-lateral surface of the zygomaticomaxillary buttress region. Advance the Surgical
Introducer from the superior-lateral buttress to the pterygopalatine fossa along the posterior maxilla.
The Surgical Introducer may be used to estimate the appropriate Microstimulator length by using the
centimeter scale on the medial surfaces of the Surgical Introducer.
The Microstimulator is available in four lengths:
Short - Approximately 3.6cm in length
Medium - Approximately 4.4cm in length
Long - Approximately 5.2cm in length
Extra-Long - Approximately 6.0cm in length
Use the Lead Blank to create a path for the Microstimulator Lead. Next, remove the Lead Blank and
insert the Microstimulator Lead. Advance the Microstimulator lead into the pterygopalatine fossa
