2050 Release 4.4 Service Pack 2 Read Me Document
Avaya is pleased to announce the availability of the 2050 IP Softphone Release 4.4 Service Pack 2 (2050
R4.4.2), which provides quality and robustness improvements, and adds support for Microsoft® Windows™ 8
Operating System (including both 32 bit and 64 bit platforms). This release is being provided as a no charge
update to all customers who have previously purchased or upgraded to Release 3.x or 4.x.
This Read me document summarizes the new content included in this release, as well as Product Advisements.
Platform Support and Quality Improvements
The 2050 IP Softphone Release 4.4.2 adds support for Microsoft® Windows™8 Operating System (including
both 32 bit and 64 bit platforms), for both the end-user PC upon which the 2050 IP Softphone is installed and
used, and for the License Server to support the Network License method of managing the required client
licenses, as described below.
This 2050 IP Softphone Release 4.4.2 continues to improve the overall quality of the 2050 IP Softphone through
the delivery of ongoing resolution of customer reports and Avaya identified work items. Several customer
reported cases have been closed and additional quality improvements have been delivered with this 2050 IP
Softphone Release 4.4.2 including the issues documented in the following table.
