Installation Options

US Companding
This option is set, by default, for
Yes
. Leaving this default permits the 8400B
Plus Data Module to digitize voice signals according to the Mu-Law standards
commonly used within the United States.
Setting this option to
No
requires the 8400B Plus Data Module to digitize voice
signals according to the A-Law standards commonly used outside of the United
States.
NOTE:
A change in the setting of this option becomes effective immediately.
Telephone Provides Dialing
This option is set, by default, for
Yes
. Leaving this default permits the 8400B
Plus Data Module to use the telephone’s DTMF dialing circuits to perform the
dialing function. This setting also permits the telephone to annunciate the
touch-tones.
Setting this option to
No
requires the 8400B Plus Data Module to perform the
dialing function using its internal DTMF dialing circuit. The
No
setting does not
allow touch-tones to be annunciated.
NOTE:
A change in the setting of this option becomes effective immediately.
