Wall-Mounting the Passport 2430 The Passport ™ 2430 Multiservide Access Switch supports a broad array of primary and backup connectivity devices. This guide refers to the Passport 2430 Multiservice Access Switch as the Passport 2430. This document describes how you use the wall mount kit to install a Passport 2430 on a wall. Before you begin, inspect the wall mount kit and verify the following: • Your shipment is complete and undamaged. • You have the proper equipment and tools.
Installing a Wall Bracket for the Passport 2430 Multiservice Access Switch In addition to this guide, your shipping container should contain the wall bracket and the appropriate hardware. Verify that the items in the shipping container match those on the packing list affixed to the shipping container.
Wall-Mounting the Passport 2430 Tools To install the wall bracket on a wall, you need the following additional equipment: • Phillips screwdriver • Carpenter’s level Verifying Site Requirements The installation site must be at least two feet off the ground. In addition, the installation site must meet all the electrical and environmental specifications for the Passport 2430. These can be found in Installing and Operating the Passport 2430 Multiservice Access Switch.
Installing a Wall Bracket for the Passport 2430 Multiservice Access Switch Installing the Wall Bracket The wall bracket, shown in Figure 2, is a metal device with four vertical mounting arms on which you attach the Passport 2430. It also has two horizontal arms you use to level the wall bracket against the wall. VLK0040A Figure 2.
Wall-Mounting the Passport 2430 To install the wall bracket on a wall: 1. Determine where on the wall you want to install the wall bracket. 2. Level the wall bracket: a. Hold the bracket against the wall. b. Put the carpenter’s level on the bracket arms as shown in Figure 3. c. Watching the carpenter’s level, adjust the wall bracket until it is level. Wall-Mounting the Passport 2430 Hanging the Passport 2430 The Passport 2430 has two mounting slots and two special vents located on the bottom of the router (see Figure 5) that match up to the four mounting arms on the wall bracket. Installing a Wall Bracket for the Passport 2430 Multiservice Access Switch After mounting the wall bracket on the wall, you hang the Passport 2430 on the bracket by aligning the mounting arms on the wall bracket to the mounting slots and vents on the Passport 2430 (see Figure 6).
