When you complete the IP Phone connection, you must connect the phone
to the network. See “Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol” (page 424).
Startup sequence
When you connect an IP Phone 1230 to the network, it must perform a
startup sequence. The elements of the startup sequence include
obtaining network access (if supported by the network infrastructure)
obtaining VLAN ID (if supported by the network infrastructure)
obtaining the IP parameters
obtaining the provisioning parameters
connecting to the Call Server
The IP Phone is configured for automatic provisioning by default. For
more information about provisioning the IP Phone automatically, see
“Provisioning the IP Phones” (page 491).
You can manually configure all or some parameters. For information
about manually provisioning the IP Phone, see “Manual provisioning of IP
Phones 1110 and 1200 Series” (page 533).
Redeploying an IP Phone 1230
You can redeploy a previously-configured IP Phone 1230 on the same Call
Server. For example, you can assign the IP Phone 1230 to a new user
(new TN) or to an existing user who moved to a new subnet by changing
the TN of the IP Phone 1230. For more information, see Converging the
Data Network with VoIP Fundamentals (NN43001-260).
