Publishing software
Step Action
1 Click Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > Active
Directory Users and Computers to start the Active Directory
Users and Computers snap-in.
2 In the console tree, right-click on your domain name.
3 Click Properties.
4 Click the Group Policy tab.
5 Select the group policy object.
6 Click Edit.
7 Press the plus (+) sign beside Computer Configuration, to
expand it.
8 Press + beside Software Settings to expand it.
9 Right-click on Software Installation.
10 Select New.
11 Click Package.
12 In the Open dialog box, enter the full Universal Naming
Convention (UNC) path to the shared folder that contains the
MSI package that you want.
For example, \\file server\share\file name.msi.
ATTENTION
Do not browse to the location. Ensure that you use the UNC path to
the shared folder.
13 Click Open.
