318 Nortel IP Phone 1140E
For example, if you press the 5 key repeatedly, the following
characters are displayed, one at a time:
j -> k -> l -> J -> K -> L -> 5 ->
See Table 70 "Character key mappings" (page 318) for character key
mappings.
The insertion point remains in its current position as long as you
continue to press the same key.
The entry is accepted if either a new key is pressed or if two seconds
pass with no entry. The insertion point moves 1 space to the right.
For example, to enter the word Nortel, press the following key
sequence:
6 [2 second delay] 67835
Although special characters are not required, key 1 generates
commonly used special characters, such as the period (.), at symbol
(@), and underscore (_).

With UNIStim 3.2 or later, you can use the numeric keys on an external
USB keyboard connected to the IP Phone 1140E to dial calling numbers.

“Information line display” (page 319)
“Context-sensitive soft key label display” (page 320)
