DHCP server conﬁguration

Install a Windows NT 4 or Windows 2000 server

To set up the Windows NT 4 or Windows 2000 server, follow the

instructions provided in the installation booklet. After completion, install the

latest Service Pack and make sure the DHCP Manager is included.

WARNING

If installing a Windows NT 4 server with Service Pack 4 or

later, follow the installation instructions included with the server

hardware.

Conﬁgure a Windows NT 4 server with DHCP

Configure a Windows NT 4 server with DHCP services using the DHCP

Manager provided. Use the following procedure to launch the DHCP

Manager.

Launching the DHCP Manager In Windows NT 4

Step Action

1 Click on the Windows Start button.

2 Select Programs > Administrative tools (Common) > DHCP

Manager. The DHCP Manager window opens.

3 Double-click Local Machines in the left pane. The Create

Scope - (Local) window opens. See Figure 121 "Define new

scope" (page 636).
