Viewing the Routing Table

You can create, modify, or delete Routing Table static entries. For more information on editing
tables, refer to “Editing Tables” on page 210
.
You can limit the table entries displayed.
Protocol The protocol through which the route was learned. The following
protocols can be specified:
Static - The route was manually configured to this device.
Local - The route represents a directly attached net/subnet and
corresponds to one of the IP interfaces configured to this
device.
RIP - The entry was learned from the RIP protocol.
OSPF - The entry was learned from the OSPF protocol.
Redistribute If checked, static entries are advertised by RIP and OSPF. If
unchecked, static entries are not advertised.
Cost Number of hops to the destination network, or the cost of the route for
OSPF routes.
Permanent The permanence status of the route. Possible statuses are:
Checked - The route is not disabled when a link on the route is
down.
Unchecked - The route is disabled when a link on the route is
down.
Static Preference The preference of this route. Possible values are:
Low - Dynamic routes are preferred on this static route.
High - This static route is preferred on dynamic routes.
Route Type The type of route.
Route Age The number of seconds since this route was last updated or
otherwise determined to be correct.
