Sending Instant Messages
Send instant messages (IM) to your mobility-enabled friends on the same
MCC 3100 for Nokia system. You cannot send instant messages to
someone on another messaging system (for example, MSN).
Sending an IM to a single contact
1. Select a friend or log entry.
2. Select Options, IM from the menu.
The Instant Message screen appears.
3. Type your message in the Message field.
On some Nokia devices, select the Message field to display the Edit
Text screen, enter your message and select Done.
4. Select Options, Send.
Your message is sent.
A record of your most current IM sessions appear in the IM/Call History
section of the Instant Message screen. The screen displays the most
recent 20 messages from each friend or contact.
Instant message history indicators
The following indicators provide information concerning the state of the
instant messages sent between you and the other party:
• ~>Contacting server in order to send message
• =>Server sending message
• -> Message failed
• +> Message successful
• ?> Unknown result
• < Incoming message
Sending a message to multiple contacts
1. Navigate to either the MCC 3100 for Nokia Main (including preview
panes), Logs, Friends, or Place Call screens.
