Assigning an extender password

3. Select Enable Password to enable the password.
4. Click
random.
This means that the password is a system generated random number. The
system displays a 10-digit number in the Password field. Take note of this
number, your user will need it to access the switch from home.
5. Type Doe, John and click
OK.
This is the last name and first name of the user. The system returns you to
the Password Manager screen.
6. Select
CommLink:Select Cards.
A screen containing a list of cards (for example, Card A, Card B, and so
on) appears. Each card corresponds to a port on your switch.
7. Select
Card A and click OK.
The system returns you to the Password Manager screen.
8. Select
CommLink:Upload Password.
The error message screen appears with the message Administrator
password not loaded.
9. Click
OK.
The Administrator screen appears.
10. Type
123456 and click OK.
This is the administrators password.
11. Select
CommLink:Upload Password.
The password is uploaded.
12. When upload is complete, click
OK.
The system returns you to the Password Manager screen.
13. Select
File:Save As.
The Save As screen appears.
14. Type
doe.fil in the File field and click OK.
The system saves the User01 information.
