Name of problem
BCMRD R2.4 does not connect to CM4.0
Products affected
Basic Call Management System (BCMS) Reporting System Desktop
Problem description
After performing an investigation we determined that the reason the BCMRD Server was not connecting to CM 4.0 was due to
Authentication changes made in CM 4.0. For security reasons CM 4.0 implemented code to confirm the connection password.
ConnectionServer.exe is responsible for creating a connection between the BCMRD Server and CM 4.0. As a result modifications to
ConnectionServer.exe were required to send the CM password twice instead of once.
Resolution
Apply BCMR Release 2 Version 4 Patch 1:
http://support.avaya.com/japple/css/japple?PAGE=ProductArea&temp.productID=107671&temp.bucketID=108025
The fix to support CM 4.0 is transparent to the end user. ConnectionServer.exe is a separate executable used internally by the
BCMRD Server to connect to the CM so no changes were made to either BCMRD Server or BCMRD Client. This patch is to be
installed on systems running BCMRD version R2.4 or later, previous releases of BCMRD are not supported.
