3 Installing and Configuring the Deko
112
All newsroom computer system workstations will locate the elements for display in
these folders.
n
Avid recommends that they reside on the computer where the DekoMOS Gateway is
installed. All folders should be shared for Read Only access. This ensures that the graphics
remain as they were created while allowing access to those graphics. For best performance,
files for playout are stored on the Deko. Duplicate files stored on the DekoMOS Gateway are
accessed by the Deko Select plug-in.
The path you enter must be a UNC path and not a drive letter path. The format for a
UNC path is
\\server\volume\directory
and is not case-sensitive. For example:
\\Shared1_svr\Shared1\WGroups
25. On the Control Room tab, enter a name for a control room.
26. Click OK.
Deko and Deko Select Subfolders
Users can organize their templates into subfolders, both on the DekoMOS Gateway and the
Deko device itself. Command supports the use of subfolders with the Deko for both
hand-entered (*CG) and Deko Select items.
n
The Deko and DekoMOS Gateway must have a uniform subfolder structure so, for instance,
an item in the Sports\Score subfolder on the Deko must also be in the Sports\Score subfolder
on the DekoMOS Gateway.
