Configuring the Deko Device Service
After any device service is installed for Deko character generators, some additional
configuration is required, using the Service Configuration application of Avid Service
Framework. For more information, see the Avid Service Framework User’s Guide.
To configure the device service:
1. Click the Start button, and then select All Programs > Avid > Service Framework > Avid
Service Configuration.
2. Navigate to and select the Avid Deko device service.
3. When prompted for the administrator password, enter it.
4. Enter the host name for the respective device.
5. Enter the name of the DekoMOS Gateway computer.
6. Select the appropriate device mode.

In single channel mode, items with motions and/or clips are rendered when cued and then
paused at the first frame. In dual channel mode, items are not rendered until they are played.
7. Click Apply. You can then close the Avid Service Configuration application.
8. Click the Start button, and then select All Programs > Avid > Service Framework >
Avid Workgroup Properties.
9. Click the Advanced button.
10. After the Avid Services dialog box opens, select the device, then stop and restart it.
