To create a new template:
1. Click the New button at the bottom of the Templates tab. A new blank row will appear in
the list of templates.
2. Type the name of the new template in the Name column.
3. Fill in the address information for the template. For CII integration, the address in
Command must match the address of the template on the device.
4. Set the field count to a numerical value. This number must match the number of
replaceable fields in the graphic.
5. Set the Play count to a numerical value. This number must match the number of triggers
in the item—that is the number of times an operator must press Play to get through all of
the effects in the template.
6. Select the check box in the Persistent column if the template is one that will remain
onscreen while other graphics are played and ejected. An example of a persistent
template is a LIVE graphic that remains onscreen during a live broadcast while other
location or name graphics are also aired as lower-thirds.
7. (Optional) Type a meaningful description of what the template is used for, such as:
Lower-third Location with two fields.
8. Click Save.
To copy a template:
1. Select a template from the list of templates on the Templates tab.
2. Click Copy.
3. Click in the Name and Address fields to rename the copy.
4. (Optional) Modify the other fields associated with the copied template as needed.
5. Click Save.
To delete a template:
1. Select a template from the list of templates on the Templates tab.
2. Click Delete

If deleting a template that has already been assigned to a style, a warning will appear to
notify you of the assignment and confirm the deletion. If confirmed, the template is deleted
from the inventory as well as the style. However, to clarify, deleting a template in the GIE
application does not remove the corresponding file from the Chyron graphics device.
