Installing Avid iNEWS Command on the Workstation

By default, the Time Synchronization service is selected to be installed; however, this
service should only be installed if you do not already use something to synchronize your
PC clocks. If you use NTP or some other method for time synchronization, do not install
this service. For more information about the services in this dialog box, see the tables in
page 24.
8. Click Next and follow the installation instructions to complete the installation.

You might be required to restart your system to complete the installation.
After installation, verify that the services are running on each computer where Service
Framework services were installed.
Installing Avid iNEWS Command on the
Workstation
This section provides the standard procedure for installing the Command software on a
Windows-based computer—Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, or Windows Server
2003—designated as a Command Workstation.
To install the software on a Command Workstation:
1. Insert the Command installation CD (or access the install program from the network).
The InstallShield Wizard starts and displays the Welcome screen.
2. Click Next.
