If your workstation has an earlier operating system, Avid recommends installing the DivX
H.264 codec pack from the following Web site:

Setting up this feature, also requires some configuration of AirSpeed Multi Stream as well as
Avid iNEWS Command.
Configuring AirSpeed Video Servers for the Low-Res Proxy Viewer
Both the AirSpeed 5000 and Multi Stream servers must be configured to create proxies.
To configure the AirSpeed 5000 for proxy creation:
1. Open the AirSpeed 5000 Management Console.
2. In the Record Template section, select the Proxy enabled checkbox.
3. In the Inventory section, select Generate proxy on Send to Playback.
4. Click Apply.
To configure the AirSpeed Multi Stream for proxy creation:
1. In the AMS application, click File > Preferences > Generate proxy after record.
The proxies are kept on
E:\madamsdb\proxies
(where madamsdb is the default
database).
2. Ensure the E drive is a shared drive.

Create a net use script that opens the connection automatically.
