Verifying Network Connectivity
You can use the Windows operating system ping command to verify the network connection
between your computer and another system on the network.

Before you use the ping command, make sure you know the system name or network address
of the system you are pinging.
To check network connectivity:
1. Click the Start button, and then click Run.
The Run dialog box opens.
2. Type the following command in the Open text box:
ping -t systemname
The variable systemname is the name of the system you are verifying.
The Windows Console window opens, showing the status of the pinging.
3. Press Ctrl+C to stop running the ping command.
