Maintaining Sync While Trimming
For more information
about sync relation-
ships, as well as addi-
tional procedures for
managing sync, see
Chapter 14
.
Because single-roller (A-side or B-side) trims shorten or lengthen the
duration of the track being trimmed, any relationships that exist with
other tracks downstream of the trim will be thrown out of sync. Trim
mode has two features to ensure that you do not break sync uninten-
tionally between two or more video and audio tracks when perform-
ing single-roller trims.
You can add black to the track while trimming.
You can sync-lock tracks that maintain a synchronized relation-
ship.
n
Because dual-roller trims do not cause sync breaks, you can only add black
while performing single-roller trims.
