Automatically add keyframes by moving the position indicator below the Current monitor
and then adjusting any keyframeable color correction parameter.
Check how your animated color corrections are working by scrubbing through clips in Color
Correction mode. Color correction parameter controls and graphs update as you scrub to
show the parameter values at each point in the clip.
You can also adjust effects other than color corrections in the Effect Editor while in
Color Correction mode.
To support keyframing, color corrections in the current version of your Avid editing application
store parameter information differently from color corrections created in some older versions.
You must promote color corrections in sequences that were created with these older versions to
work with them in the current version. For more information, see “Updating and Reverting
Existing Effects in Sequences” on page 42.
Displaying the Effect Editor with Color Correction Mode
You have several options for using buttons to display the Effect Editor with Color Correction
mode.
An alternative approach, particularly if you need to work frequently with the Effect Editor in
Color Correction mode, is to save the Color Correction workspace in a configuration that
includes the Effect Editor.
To open the Effect Editor when you are in Color Correction mode:
t Click the Effect Mode button.
The most convenient locations for the Effect Mode button when you are in Color Correction
mode are the top right corner in the Color Correction tool and the Timeline palette.
The Effect Editor opens.

When you are in Color Correction mode, the Effect Mode button simply opens the Effect Editor.
It does not display the standard Effect Mode layout, including the Effect Preview monitor.
To close the Effect Editor when you are in Color Correction mode:
t Click the Effect Editor’s Close button.
The Effect Editor closes.

When you are in Color Correction mode and the Effect Editor is open, you cannot close the
Effect Editor by clicking the Effect Mode button again.
