Soft Keys for Editing
This section shows how to get to the default Touchscreen controls for editing with Artist Control.
Steps on other units with a Touchscreen will be similar.
To use the Editing Soft Keys:
1 Make sure the Touchscreen is on Page 1 (press the HOME Touchscreen button if necessary).
2 In the Touchscreen, press the EDITING key (it has a small scissors icon). The Touchscreen and the
Soft Keys change to show the default Editing assignments.
The Editing page provides a collection of commands and tasks specific to editing in Pro Tools. These
commands can greatly speed up workflows by reducing the amount of mousing required for common
actions including (but not limited to) changing the Nudge and Grid values, Region Groups, extend-
ing selections to previous or next, trimming, and more.
Track View for Editing
You can use modifier keys in combination with Artist Series controls to change track views in the Edit
window. This lets you quickly show waveform data in a track.
To show waveforms for a track on Artist Mix or Artist Control:
 Hold Command+Control (Mac) or Start+Ctrl (WIndows) and press the track SEL key.
This same technique also lets you show automation data in track views. For additional shortcuts to
