Chapter 46: Event Operations 1017
The Warp and Event markers closest to the Quan-
tize Grid are quantized accordingly. TCE is ap-
plied between these markers and all other markers
maintain their position relative to the Quantize
Grid.
Quantizing Audio Clips
Pro Tools lets you quantize audio clip start times
(or sync points) using the Quantize operation. Au-
dio clip start times (or sync points) are quantized to
the nearest quantize grid value.
To quantize audio clips:
1 Select the audio clips you want to quantize.
2 Choose Events > Event Operations > Quantize.
3 In the Quantize window, select Audio Clips from
the What to Quantize pop-up menu.
4 Set the Quantize Grid and Options settings.
5 Click Apply.
The clip start times (or sync points if present) are
quantized according to the quantize settings.
Quantizing Mixed Selections
You can apply Quantize to both MIDI notes and
audio clips, or both MIDI notes and Elastic Audio
events at the same time. However, you cannot ap-
ply Quantize to both audio clips (non-Elastic Au-
dio) and Elastic Audio events at the same time.

Quantizing clip groups only adjust the
location of the clip group start (or sync
point). To quantize the underlying sliced
clips in a clip group, you must first ungroup,
then quantize, and then regroup. For more in-
formation on clip groups, see “Clip Groups”
on page 919.
