Video Output Tool Calibration Settings
(Nitris DX Only)
In the Video Output Tool window, click the Cali-
bration
tab to configure the calibration settings for
video output.
Output Menu for Non-HD Video
The Output selector lets you select either Compo-
nent
, Composite, S Video for non-HD projects.
On some systems, all outputs on your video hard-
ware are active. Select an analog signal from the
Output menu to calibrate the output.
Hue
Lets you adjust an attribute of color percep-
tion based on varying proportions of red, green,
and blue in the video signal (also known as color
phase). Available for S Video or Composite out-
put.
Sat
Lets you adjust saturation, a measurement of
chrominance or the intensity of color in the video
signal. Available for S Video or Composite out-
put.
SC Phase
Lets you adjust the subcarrier phase
(the
color-burst portion of a signal used to syn-
chronize the timing of two or more video signals).
Available for S Video or Composite output.
Setup
Lets you set the relative lightness and dark-
ness of images. Available for S Video, Compo-
nent, or Composite output.
Gain
Lets you adjust the variation of the lightest or
brightest in comparison to the darkest portions of
the image. Available for S Video or Composite
output.
Y Gain, Pr Gain, Pb Gain
Available for Compo-
nent output only.
Y Gain—Lets you adjust Y Gain, a measurement
of luma (Y) in the video signal that is the whitest
point in the visible picture. Use color bars to set the
white level.
Pb Gain—Lets you adjust the gain of the Pb color-
difference signal (a scaled version of the BY sig-
nal) of an analog component system.
Pr Gain—Lets you adjust the gain of the Pr color-
difference signal (a scaled version of the RY sig-
nal) of an analog component system.
System Phase
Some Avid video hardware configurations let you
modulate the timing of the output signal and a ref-
erence signal. This option is available for
S Video,
Component, or Composite output.
SubPixel HPhase
The SubPixel HPhase setting provides a fine ad-
justment of Horizontal phase. Available for
SVideo, Component, or Composite output.
