2 All about FRITZ!Card PnP 2.1 What Does FRITZ!Card PnP Require? The following requirements must be met before you can operate d PnP in your computer: the AVM ISDN Controller F R ITZ!Car ITZ!Card • Your computer must have a free 8-bit or 16-bit plug-in slot for ISA cards. • Find out which protocol is provided on your ISDN line by the ISDN network operator. Connections employing the DSS1 or 1TR6 protocol are possible. Connections installed after 1994 are generally DSS1 connections (Euro-ISDN connections).
2 All about FRITZ!Card PnP d PnP is loaded The driver software associated with F R ITZ!Car ITZ!Card from the hard disk upon starting Windows. It controls the communication and data transfer processes, for example the simultaneous use of both B channels. F R ITZ!Car d PnP supports version 2.0 of the standardized interITZ!Card face COMMON-ISDN-API (CAPI). Programs from other manufacturd PnP ers based on CAPI 2.0 can also be used with F R ITZ!Car ITZ!Card PnP.
2 All about FRITZ!Card PnP CAPI SoftModem F R ITZ!Car d PnP additionally offers the CAPI SoftModem perforITZ!Card mance feature. On the basis of this modem emulation, it is possible to establish a connection from an ISDN connection to analog remote parties which are connected to the telephone network via a modem. After installation of the AVM ISDN CAPI Port Driver, you can also SDN FFA AX send and receive faxes using the virtual modem AVM IISDN (G3) (G3). Other fax applications offering CAPI 2.0 support can similarly be used.

3 How to Install FRITZ!Card PnP – Windows 95 • Select an appropriate slot, remove the protective plate on the d PnP into the slot with the top end and insert F R ITZ!Car ITZ!Card connector strip facing forward into the slot until the card is firmly located. d PnP tightly to the top end of the slot. • Screw F R ITZ!Car ITZ!Card • Close the computer, tighten the screws and reconnect the power plug. Physical installation of F R ITZ!Car ITZ!Card d PnP is now completed. d PnP must now be connected to ISDN.
3 How to Install FRITZ!Card PnP – Windows 95 • Confirm your selection twice with OK OK. The driver information is then copied into a temporary folder on your computer. • The next window to appear is the AVM welcome screen for the driver software installation program. The remaining steps are identical for the different Windows 95 versions. Refer to the section on “Further Installation Steps” for the remainder of the installation procedure for the driver software. The driver is entered in the Registry so that the F R ITZ!Car d PnP controller is activated automatically when ITZ!Card Windows 95 is started. 5 FRITZ! Installation 5 FRITZ! INSTALLATION On the CD you will find two different versions of the F R ITZ! communications software. F R ITZ! is a 16-bit version for Windows 3.x. F R ITZ!32 is a 32-bit version for Windows 95 and Windows NT. Both versions are based on the CAPI 2.0 application interface. The procedure for installing either versions of F R ITZ! is the same. ITZ!32: Proceed as follows to install F R ITZ! or F R ITZ!32 • Restart your computer. If you are using Windows 3.x, open Windows.
5 FRITZ! Installation • You then need to decide whether “Quick installation“ or “Installation with configuration“ is to be performed. If you select Quick Installation Installation, F R ITZ! is installed with the default settings in the specified directory/folder. All configuration parameters can then be entered into the individual FRITZ! modules. See the corresponding sections in the manual or the online help for relevant information.
