In some applications, DSR (at the computer) may need to be
active for your application’s software to work, but end-to-end
DSR signaling may not be necessary. For these applications
you can still extend DCD or RI as shown below and tie DSR
to DTR in your adaptor at the computer. This would be done
as follows:
