The Power of Being There®
Introduction
You can configure your SwitchView IP 1020
remote access device or DSR switch to
allow users to connect to the On-Board Web
Interface through a firewall.
System configuration
In a typical configuration, the user’s server
is located outside of the firewall and the
SwitchView IP remote access device or DSR
switch resides inside the firewall. In this case,
the firewall must be configured to allow four
TCP/IP ports inside the firewall.
To configure the firewall
Configure your firewall to forward ports 80,
443, 8192 and 2068 from its external
interface to the KVM switch through the
firewall’s internal interface. Consult the
manual for your firewall for specific port
forwarding instructions.
To connect to the SwitchView IP or DSR
On-Board Web Interface
Open a web browser and enter the external IP
address of the firewall. The SwitchView IP 1020
Explorer or DSR Explorer will open and prompt you
to log in.

NOTE: For more information about the
SwitchView IP 1020 remote access device, see
the SwitchView IP 1020 Installer/User guide. For
more information about the DSR switch, see the
DSR Installer/User guide.
The firewall forwards HTTP
requests and KVM traffic to the
SwitchView IP remote access
device (shown) or DSR switch.
