• Probe end shall be medical grade stainless steel and must be completely sealed
or potted
• The probe connector shall match the current environmental tag connector and be
backwards compatible
2.3 VFC Display
The VFC display is connected to the temperature tag and attached to the outside of the
temperature-controlled unit for easy viewing. The following figure provides a conceptual
view of the display.

The display has the following requirements:
• Powered by a single 9-volt battery with a minimum 2-year battery life
• 2.7-inch e-ink display with 26x176 resolution
• Displays the tag’s last temperature sample taken
• The device displays the following:
o Current temperature (last sample received)
o Minimum and maximum temperature since last device reset
o Battery health/low battery indicator
